PYEONGCHANG, South Korea — U.S. snowboarder Shaun White exchanged all three of his gold medals this morning for the prestigious Mountain Dew “Dewd-of-the-Year” Trophy following yesterday’s winning halfpipe run at the 2018 Winter Olympics, officials confirmed.
“Let me just say, it’s the greatest honor of my career to even be considered for ‘Dewd of the Year,’” the 31-year-old said, after being doused in an entire cooler of Mountain Dew Code Red by the rest of Team USA. “Taking home three golds and getting $37K from the IOC was cool, but until the Olympics gets its own exclusive drink at Taco Bell, we all know what the real top prize is. Any Dewd worthy of the honor would understand.”
Sources close to White report the athlete is considering delaying retirement to pursue the much-coveted Red Bull “Best Bully Boy” title in 2022.
